Newen is a theatre company of youth and technology, that is being developed by director Josefina Pieres. She has been awarded with a Residency at Koubek Center for the creation of this project, where she is recruiting talent for the company. Performers will be in between 16 and 23 years old and there will be powerful use of technology onstage.
«My intention is to aim to the young, to encourage future generations into building a theatrical Miami. Theatre is one of the most ancient arts and it is one that can and should be constantly updated to contemporary life. Theatre is the reflection of society, so as theatre makers we need to modernize all the time. I want to make a fusion between theatre and technology. I will build a theatre company of the new generation, that will promote youth into culture and will reflect society in a way we all need to see to evolve.»
